Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham says the quality of her designs can never be criticised because she refused to compromise with her creations.

When the former Spice Girls star launched her first collection for her Victoria Beckham line in 2008, she was met with a lot of opposition because people just assumed she was another celebrity putting her name to a clothing range.

"When I was starting out I remember Marc Jacobs saying, 'As long as the quality is great, then people can say it's not their personal taste, but they can't say that it's rubbish.' And that's very true," contactmusic.com quoted the 37-year-old as saying.

Victoria also says that she is very proud of her fashion label but is stunned at how well it has done over the past three years.

"In the first collection we produced 400 dresses and we had nine retail partners internationally, and now we're producing about 500 pieces with all categories in just over 300 stores worldwide. Though I'm trying to take baby steps, the business is growing very quickly. Our turnover year-over-year has increased over 120 percent. I think to anyone's standards that's very impressive," she added.

The LA Galaxy announced yesterday that the club has re-signed midfielder David Beckham to a two-year contract, extending his stay with the MLS Cup Champions. Beckham, who had the best season of his five-year MLS career in 2011, helped lead the Galaxy to their first MLS Cup title since 2005.

"This was an important decision for me,” Galaxy midfielder David Beckham said. “I had many offers from clubs from around the world, however, I'm still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy.”

"I've seen first hand how popular soccer is now in the States and I'm as committed as ever to growing the game here," he added. "My family and I are incredibly happy and settled in America and we look forward to spending many more years here."

In five years with the Galaxy, Beckham was twice named to the MLS All-Star Team and finished the 2011 season with a career-best 15 assists, earning him a spot on the MLS Best XI. Beckham’s individual success helped translate to team success last season as the club repeated as Supporters’ Shield winners, finishing the season with a 19-5-10 record for 67 points, which were the second most in League history. That form continued into the postseason where the Galaxy won all four of their postseason games, culminating with a 1-0 win over Houston at The Home Depot Center in MLS Cup 2011. Beckham had an assist in that game, just as he did in each of the club’s first three playoffs games, giving him a league-best four postseason assists on the year.

“I am thrilled that David has chosen to re-join the Galaxy, especially as he had numerous options where he could continue his career,” Galaxy General Manager and Head Coach Bruce Arena said. “I felt that he was one of the best players in all of MLS last season and we could not have achieved the success that we did without him. We look forward to trying to replicate that success this season with David once again in a Galaxy uniform.”

In 74 career regular season games in a Galaxy uniform, Beckham has 31 assists to go along with 11 goals with the club going 15-2-4 in the past three seasons when he scored a goal or recorded an assist. Additionally, the 36-year-old has helped lead the Galaxy to the postseason in each of the last three seasons, tallying seven assists in 11 postseason games. The Galaxy also qualified for the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League for the first time in club history last season, with Beckham playing in four of the club’s six games while setting up a pair of goals in the competition.

“There has been much speculation in the past four months on where David was going to play and we did not get caught up in this and remained focused on re-signing him,” said Tim Leiweke, President & CEO, AEG. “David had many options and we are pleased he felt comfortable, not only with our organization but also with Los Angeles, and will remain an important part of our club, our AEG family and our City”.

“The Galaxy had an unbelievable year in 2011, David had a great year individually and the club were deservedly crowned Supporters’ Shield winners and MLS Cup Champions,” added Leiweke. “The 2011 Galaxy team may have been the best club in MLS history and like David, we are focused on repeating that success in 2012 and fielding the most exciting team for our fans.”

"When David and I discussed making the move from Real Madrid to the LA Galaxy back in 2007, our minds were firmly focused on the massive opportunity of helping to grow soccer in the United States,” added Simon Fuller, Beckham’s Business Partner and Manager. “We have made great progress over the past 5 years in raising the profile of soccer domestically and the MLS on a worldwide stage, and we are encouraged by all the results. However, clearly this is an ongoing mission and this new deal confirms our commitment to continuing our journey and making sure the world's biggest sport, soccer, continues to grow in the world's most passionate sports loving nation, the USA.”

Major League Soccer has also experienced exponential growth in the first five years that Beckham has played for the Galaxy, growing from 12 teams in 2006 to 19 teams this season, including the expansion Montreal Impact. In that time, the expansion fee for clubs has quadrupled from $10 million to $40 million, with $170 million being raised in expansion fees since the start of the 2007 MLS season. In that same time, nine new soccer-specific stadiums have been built in Major League Soccer, giving the League a total of 15 in 2012, while average attendance rose to 17,872 last season, making MLS the 10th best attended league in the world.

“What David has accomplished since joining the Galaxy five years ago is truly remarkable,” said Jeff Frasco of Creative Artists Agency (CAA). “While David has been a tremendous ambassador for soccer in the U.S., he has set further goals for himself, both professionally and personally, and we are pleased to be part of the team to help him achieve these and more.”

Beckham and the LA Galaxy will open preseason ahead of the 2012 MLS season next week at The Home Depot Center. They will return to competitive action on Wednesday, March 7 when they take on Toronto FC in the first leg of their 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinal, which will be played at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They will open the 2012 MLS season three days later on Saturday, March 10 when they host Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center in MLS First Kick 2012.

The Super Bowl is About to Get Sexier!

The Super Bowl is about to get a whole lot sexier! H&M will be airing a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl XLVI for its David Beckham Bodywear collection, which will hit 1,800 H&M stores on Feb. 2nd.

“We’re always looking for new ways to surprise and delight our customers, and we see this as a unique opportunity to reach millions of fans and H&M customers,” said Steve Lubomski, director of marketing for H&M North America.

This is the first time H&M is advertising during the Super Bowl, which will air on NBC on Feb. 5th. The network is charging a record $3.5 million per 30-second spot on average during the telecast, according to published reports.

The David Beckham commercial was shot in a Hollywood studio last March. The Super Bowl spot will kick off a larger global advertising push supporting the bodywear launch, both on television and in print. The line encompasses men’s briefs, trunks, boxers, T-shirts, tank tops and pajama bottoms.

“David Beckham Bodywear for H&M is an international campaign and will run in all markets carrying the collection, but there is a special version created for the Super Bowl,” explained Lubomski.

H&M declined to reveal details on the creative aspects of the commercial but expect plenty of skin — the company dubbed it “stimulating,” and Lubomski said it features Beckham wearing different items from the collection.

Victoria Beckham "channelled her inner girl" when designing her new line.

The star has added to her range of high end dresses by creating a new range of cheaper pieces called Victoria by Victoria Beckham. She felt the time was right to try to broaden her appeal by expanding her business.

"I wanted to offer designer pieces at a more affordable price and show another side of my personality. The original inspiration was the cartoon character Emily the Strange - from that starting point, I channelled my inner girl," she told the February edition of InStyle magazine.

Victoria's dresses have become a hit with celebrities the world over. She is often seen wearing her own creations and explained for her the frock is the ultimate fashion piece.

"Every woman needs a great dress, one she can rely on day or night. It should flatter from every angle, standing and sitting. And should always make her feel beautiful and confident," she explained. "[The ultimate dress is] one that's timeless, considered a fashion investment and that can be worn time and time again."

David Beckham Will Return to the Galaxy

David Beckham is coming back to the Galaxy.

The star midfielder, whose record five-year, $32.5-million contract with the Major League Soccer club expired Dec. 31, will announce Thursday that he has reached agreement on a new contract for the 2012 season, which begins in March. Details of the contract were not immediately available but it is expected to call for a summer sabbatical from MLS play, allowing Beckham to play for the English team in the London Olympics.

Beckham, who turns 38 in May, was offered an 18-month contract with French club Paris-St. Germaine that would have paid him $1 million a month.

But Beckham, who has long said family concerns would play the biggest role in deciding where he would play, turned down that offer last month because his wife and four children enjoy living in Southern California.

Beckham had the most productive season of his short MLS career last year, playing 26 games and recording 15 assists, the second-highest total in the league.

That not only won him Comeback Player of the Year honors and a spot on the postseason Best XI, but it also helped the Galaxy to an MLS title, giving Beckham national titles in three countries.

According to People.com in the UK, Posh Spice sent a matching grey suede belt along with the stylish boots. The Duchess of Cambridge just happened to be browsing through the tabloids when she saw a picture of Victoria wearing the boots. Kate reportedly told Victoria how great they were. The "Vicky" boots, seen here, are rather snazzy and are perfect for Kate's relatively conservative style. The boots feature a 4" heel and are touted as the perfect accessory for any black or navy outfits. Kate's color wheel just happens to include those two colors. The Louboutin's are part of the Fall 2011 collection and are currently sold for $1,119.00.

Kate has turned to Victoria for beauty advice as well as tips on dealing with the massive amount of paparazzi. The Beckhams are essentially royalty in their own rights and certainly know a thing or two about handling the press. Of course, the palace will not confirm or deny the gift because, all gifts are "private."

The Look for Less: Christian Louboutin Daffodile Pumps

Whether you love them or hate them, there's no doubt that the Christian Louboutin Daffodile platform pumps were the most worn and loved celebrity shoe of 2011. When they first launched they were instant sell-outs and most stores couldn't keep them on the shelves... especially after they started popping up on almost every celebrity imaginable... including Victoria Beckham.

I happen to really like these pumps but unfortunately, I don't have a Beckham budget. These shoes, in my opinion, aren't worth spending the $1,000+ dollars on because I have a feeling that once this style goes out, we won't see it again for a long time. So, if you have a working gal budget like myself, finding a designer inspired style is your best bet!

GALAXY: Beckham Talks Dragging On

David Beckham might have decided to remain with the Galaxy, but he's taking his time making that official.

More than a week after Paris Saint-Germain announced that it would not sign the English superstar -- and that Beckham would be returning to L.A. -- the Galaxy continue to negotiate with their midfield leader.

“We're hopeful we're going to re-sign him,” head coach/GM Bruce Arena said Thusday from the MLS SuperDraft. “We're in discussions with David and his representatives, and we're hopeful he'll be playing with the Galaxy.”

Is Arena confident Beckham will sign? “I'll be confident,” he said, “when I'm told he has signed a contract.”

British broadsheet The Guardian reported Thursday that Beckham's representatives expect him to sign soon with the Galaxy. His contract with L.A. expired on New Year's Eve, and the club has offered him a one-year deal with a rolling mutual option believed to be of comparable value to his original, five-year contract, in which he made $6.5 million in annual average compensation.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp told The Guardian he'd be welcome if he wanted to train with Spurs. “Yes, of course, if he wants to come in, no problem,” he said. "I have not spoken to him, but if he wants to, we would love him back here. To have him around the place last year was brilliant."

The Galaxy is tentatively scheduled to open their preseason camp on Jan. 23.

When Victoria first debuted her line of dresses back in 2008, the luxury site was one of the firsts to offer her line of chic style. Shortly after, when she relaunched and revamped her sunglasses and denim collection, NAP offered those as well. The collection has been continuously growing and now the retail site offers her structured line of handbags too.

The latest addition to the collection is a new and more affordable range of dresses called Victoria by Victoria Beckham. Like all other parts of the brand, NAP will offer this new line also. Two beautiful stars have been spotted wearing the lovely scalloped trim dress from Victoria's new line Victoria by Victoria Beckham - Spring 2012.

Celine Buckens attended the UK premiere of War Horse at Odeon Leicester Square on January 8th in London and to the event she wore the hot pink and black version of the dress that we've already seen Victoria in. She looked adorable!

Actress Michelle Williams wore the same dress but in white and black at the AFTA Los Angeles' 18th annual Awards Season Tea Party which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills on January 14th. This dress is the first VB piece Michelle has worn and it really complimented her style.

Ladies Who Lunch in London

It has been incredibly slow in Beckhamland over recent weeks as the family has been spending time overseas in the UK for the holiday break. Now that it is over, it's time for the Beckham boys to get back to school.

Last week, on January 10th, David was spotted with his three boys at Heathrow Airport and then several hours later at LAX as they arrived home. School breaks certainly fly by but I'm sure the family had tons of fun while visiting their family and friends for both Christmas and New Years.

As the boys went back home to Beverly Hills, Victoria chose to stay behind with little Harper as she steadily prepares for NY Fashion Week which is right around the corner in February.. can't wait!

David Beckham will be staying in Los Angeles, according to the president of the French soccer club that had been trying to lure the English superstar away from the city that has been his home since signing with the Galaxy five years ago.

“David Beckham is in Los Angeles,” Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al Khelaifi said at the Qatar Open tennis tournament Tuesday. “And he's going to stay there.”

Beckham is said to be working with the Galaxy on a new contract, possibly for two years, something that could happen as early as this week.

When his initial five-year contract with the Galaxy ended last year, Beckham was believed to be as good as gone from Los Angeles. PSG went after the 36-year-old midfielder hard, with French media reporting that the organization would have almost doubled the annual base salary of $6.5 million Beckham was earning with the Galaxy.

But Beckham, his wife, Victoria, and their four children are said to be quite happy living in Los Angeles. And Beckham is finally enjoying the kind of success he had hoped for when he signed with the Galaxy, which won the MLS Cup in November.

So after weeks of negotiations, Beckham will not be joining PSG, Al Khelaifi confirmed Tuesday.

“David Beckham is not coming,” Al Khelaifi said. “We feel a little disappointed. But both sides agreed it would be better that we not do the deal … maybe in the future.”

I also hope that all of you enjoyed the 2011 Victoria Beckham Style Awards presentation! It's my favorite time of the year to post and am really looking forward to your comments regarding them! :)

On a personal note, I just wanted to sincerely thank you for all of your support this year. As you've noticed, 2011 has been the single most difficult year of my life - and I'm sure my absence and lack of posting here has signalled that. I honestly am really looking forward to the fresh start of a brand new year. 2011 brought a lot of heart break for me... mostly when I lost one of the loves of my life, my grandfather, to the extremely awful and heartbreaking disease that is CJD. His death was by far the most devastating thing I've ever had to go through. I also lost an uncle this year and my fiance lost his grandmother and found out two of his uncles are very ill. Needless to say, it's been tough for the two of us and we are both looking forward to a new beginning in 2012.

I have several things in the upcoming year that I am looking forward to which includes my best friends wedding in August and my own in November 2013. In 2011, even though for both of our families it was tough, we managed to move forward with the happiness that will ulitmately be our wedding day and we secured a venue and began to book vendors and settle on ideas. I can't wait to start trying on dresses and finalize plans in the upcoming months.

As for resolutions, I have made a few for myself and they are to save more money - especially in this economy the shopper in me has to settle down :), to get into shape for my wedding and my best friends (where I'm going to be a bridesmaid), to help my sister get better as she's facing a life changing and personal ordeal right now, to relax more - I've said it a few times here that my absence is due to my extreme schedule.. I start at 5:30am and don't end till 7pm on a good day.. normally it's around 8pm, attempt to find myself a teaching job (I'm working two now but neither one has anything to do with the degree I busted my hump for), to spend more time with my fiance - yes we are technically living together but he's got just as much as a hectic schedule as I do, to find the time to blog more like I used to, and finally to finish the Kay Scarpetta novel series by Patricia Cornwell.. this resolution is more for fun - I began and finished her first novel Postmortem, which is extremely different from what I'm used to reading, and I LOVED it!

So there you have it.. my 2011 and 2012 plans in a nutshell. Sorry this is so long.. just realized that now :)

VBS Awards '11: My Top 10 Favorite Looks of the Year

Last but not least, we come to my favorite award of the year.. my top ten favorite looks! These aren't necessarily in the exact order as it seems to change.. but these are my faves of 2011!

This look I'd have to admit was probably my absolute favorite of the year. I adore the 100 dress and couldn't wait to see her wear this lovely shade of blue! A complete win if you ask me!

Hot momma alert! I amazed me how shortly after Harper's birth VB stepped out in these leather pants! Loved this rocker chic look!

Ok, this is probably in my top five of the ten! I wasn't a huge fan of the leather leg pieces on the runway but Victoria completely rocked them!

So excited to see her in this pale pink dress! Such a pretty color on her!

And here's the infamous "Disappointing" look that I loved! Such a stunning silhouette on her!

She looked like the princess on the day of the Royal Wedding.. this is another one in my top five of the ten!

Mommy and me adorableness! Such a pretty color combo and how she coordinated Harper's look made it even cuter!

Definitely an airport runway moment! This Prada ensemble was very different and very pretty!

Shopping in London in one of her own designs.. I really like the blues and her hair is perfection.. wish I could get my own to do that!

Lastly, I found her New Years Eve dinner Prada outfit so festive with the sequins but it still was understated and elegant.

So there you have them.. my top ten looks! All in all I think we had a really good year as Beckham fans and I have a great feeling that 2012 will only get better!

VBS Awards '11: Five Least Favorite Looks of the Year

I have to say, it's an extreme rarity when I dislike something Victoria Beckham wears and this year, as crazy as it sounds, I almost had to force myself to include this award because there wasn't anything that I really didn't like (other than outfit #1). In fact, there are only certain aspects of the majority of these outfits that I disliked.

This is literally the only outfit I didn't like this year... for some reason, I just wasn't a fan of this ensemble as a whole.. the pieces separately - yes, altogether - nope.

I understand that she was pregnant at the time of this Simon Fuller event, but we saw a lot of this dress in 2011 and I was growing a bit bored, dare I say that word, of it.

I would've loved to see her Brian Atwood RZ boots with this look instead of her Louboutin boots.

Just wasn't a huge fan of this dress..

Loved the dress, loved the boots... just not together. I thought the Daff boots completely weighed this look down.

See... I literally didn't have much to complain about at all.. just nonsense stuff really :) I guess that's why she's my style icon... she can do no wrong!

VBS Awards '11: Notable Beckham Achievements

The Beckhams had an extremely, extremely successful year both as a couple and individually. The most notable achievement, if I dare even call it that, would be the birth of their gorgeous little girl Harper Seven. Her birth was definitely the icing on the cake for all of us Beckham fans this year. We were all so excited when we found out Victoria was having another baby, and over the moon when we found out it was a little girl. After three beautiful boys, the couple finally got their little princess!

Individually, both Victoria and David had very successful moments this year...

Victoria's Achievements:
- Winning the Emerging British Luxury Brand at the Walpole Awards
- Winning Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards

David's Achievements:
- Named MLS Comeback Player of 2011

VBS Awards '11: Trend to Carry on in 2012

One of the trends Victoria seemed to favor towards the end of 2011 was high waisted, extreme flare jeans. This denim look suits her very well because she has such a petite figure. I have a very strong feeling we will be seeing much more of this look from her in 2012! And yes.. I definitely do love this look on her! It was nice to see her in denim styles again last year!

VBS Awards '11: Disappointing Yet Stunning

Ok, before I get negative comments about calling this look disappointing, I just wanted to explain... this look from the 2011 British Fashion Awards was one of my favorite looks of the year. I LOVED this dress on Victoria and was so happy she chose to wear one of her own designs when she accepted her award.

The reason I labeled this look as the Disappointing Yet Stunning look of the year is because I was praying she would wow us in a fabulous color instead of basic black. This was the third year in a row that she chose to wear a black dress from her own collection. So the color was literally the only disappointing aspect for me. Other than that, I really really loved this look.

Here's hoping for color at the 2012 BFAs... and for another win! :)

VBS Awards '11: Most Unexpected Looks of the Year

For this category, both of these ensembles came to mind immediately when I began thinking about the different looks to choose from. The leather look from her shopping excursion with David and Harper at Maxfield's really wowed me because not only was it one of my favorite looks of 2011, but Victoria managed to fit right back into her teeny tiny leather pants only a mere few months after giving birth to her fourth child! Now that's one hot momma!

The cat print dress also was very unexpected for me because I didn't think this was going to be a style from the new Victoria by Victoria Beckham line that we would see Victoria in... let alone so soon. The fashion designer wore this dress with her Charlotte Olympia for Victoria Beckham heels when she presented her new line during fashion week in NYC with Harper.

VBS Awards '11: VB Collection Fan of the Year

This award was brand new last year and the lovely Demi Moore was the first to win the title of Victoria Beckham Collection Fan of the Year.

With each passing year, Victoria's celebrity fanbase grows more and more and it's becoming harder to select a fan for the year as several celebrities make Mrs. Beckham their go-to designer for public events.

This year, the title goes to the lovely Eva Longoria, who just so happens to be one of Victoria's closest friends. Eva has worn quite a few of Victoria's pieces in 2011.. all of which looked amazing on her. I'm sure we will see her in even more this new year!

VBS Awards '11: Victoria Beckham Collection Milestone of the Year

This year Victoria added a brand new and less expensive line to her collection called Victoria by Victoria Beckham. The baby sister of her Victoria Beckham Collection is new for spring 2012 and was inspired by the comic Emily Strange. The line features an array of loose fitting dresses in multiple colors, fabrics, and prints. This line has also given birth to the "Victoria Cat" which is a new, playful print featured on several of the new designs.

This line will be out and available within the next few months and it's sure to sell out very quickly as the designs start in the £375 to £995 range.

VBS Awards '11: Most Worn Designer of the Year

For the third consecutive year, the Most Worn Designer of the Year award goes to the Victoria Beckham Collection. Ever since debuting her brand, Victoria has favored wearing her own designs over some of the most notorious designers in the world. And, as always, nobody wears a VB dress like the woman herself! She's definitely her brand's best ambassador!

This year, Victoria kept her hair long and was often photographed wearing it down with loose waves which is affectionately being referred to as the "Power Part". The "Power Part" hairstyle consists of a middle part with a straight top portion and wavy bottom. This style is one of my favorites on VB aside from her infamous Pob which is my ultimate fave!

This ensemble consisted of VB jeans, her Marc Jacobs Cutaway leather jacket, and a loose flowing top. The only pieces that differed were her choice of shoes, sunglasses, handbag, and accessories... although on 2/16 and 2/26 they outfits were nearly identical.

It goes without saying that most people either love or hate the Louboutin Daffodile style which feature an extremely high platform and heel. Victoria Beckham is one of the many women that not only love, but seem to favor this tall style. Victoria was first spotted in her black pair at the airport early last year, and then came the nude pair, and her navy crocodile ones which were a specially ordered pair to match her navy fall 2011 dress for the Royal Wedding.

What surprised me so much was the fact that she wore these shoes while pregnant and then after Harper was born, she was often photographed wearing these shoes and carrying her infant daughter.

VB favors this style so much that she even purchased the Daff Booty which is, as the title suggests, a boot style of the infamous pump.

Last year it was her Anita Ko spike bracelet and rose gold Rolex combination that took this title. But this year, a very special ring was the most worn piece of jewelry this year. Shortly after the birth of her daughter Harper, Victoria was photographed wearing this fabulous yellow diamond ring. Most of us believe is was a "Push Present" from David after Harper was born.

This year, several of you left your ideas for the 2011 "Reader's Choice Award" and ultimately you settled on Mommy and Me Style. You all voted on five of Victoria and Harper's most stylish moments together this year. After all was said and done, the result was extremely close but this lovely pink and maroon color coordinated look got the majority of the votes at 30% (the airport look where Victoria wore her blue #100 dress and Harper haid on brown plaid came in an extremely close second at 29%).

This year we got to see Victoria Beckham like we haven't seen her in quite a few years... pregnant! We were all overjoyed when we heard the news that the Beckhams were expecting their fourth child, and a little girl at that!

Unlike most expectant mothers who resort to flat shoes, stretchy pants, or sweats, Victoria rocked her pregnancy in sky high heels, dresses, and tight pants! Victoria and David Beckham were guests at one of the most talked about and covered events of the year, the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton... now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. To the wedding, David and Victoria looked amazing and they complimented each other perfectly. Victoria, who was several months pregnant at the time, wore a navy dress from her own collection with Louboutin Daffodile pumps, a Philip Treacy hat, and her own handbag. David wore a three piece suit complete with a medal and top hat.

With each passing collection, Victoria's handbags seem to be getting more and more beautiful. She's expanded not only her styles, but her color schemes, and the materials used to create her stunning pieces. Even though there are several new styles to choose from, my favorite bag of the year is her uber chic and ultra luxe Victoria bag in shiny black alligator. This bag, to me, is the epitome of timeless chic and extreme elegance.

Rumor of the Day: Beckham Offered New Deal to Stay in MLS

Although Paris Saint-Germain remain favourites to sign the former England captain, Beckham is understood to be open to another year in the United States and has yet to finalise a decision on whether to return to Europe or commit to a sixth season in the MLS.

The 36 year-old’s £4.2 million-a-year contract with the Galaxy expires on Dec 31, but senior figures within MLS and Tim Leiweke, president of Galaxy's owners AEG, are determined to persuade Beckham to continue his career in the States.

Despite only winning his first piece of silverware with the Galaxy last month following the club’s MLS Cup success against Houston Dynamo, Beckham’s five-year stint in California has dramatically raised global recognition of the sport in the United States.

While Thierry Henry’s move to New York Red Bulls has bolstered the reputation of MLS, Beckham’s presence remains its driving force.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder has rejected offers from Brazil, the Middle East and Italy in recent weeks and sources close to the player have made it clear that he is considering just two options – another year in Los Angeles or an 18-month contract at PSG.

David & Victoria Celebrate Joanne's Birthday

Living in Los Angeles for most of the year, the Beckhams don't see a lot of their respective families. So when David realised it was his sister Joanne's 30th birthday, he decided to arrange a surprise party to celebrate - despite the fact that her big day isn't until next February.And from her tweets, Joanne had no idea that David, 36, and Victoria, 37, had arranged the surprise dinner for his younger sibling.

She knew she was going to her favourite restaurant Roka, a modern Japanese place in the heart of Fitzrovia in central London. But she was surprised to see her close friends and family there and Tweeted: 'Aww turned up at my fav restaurant and can't believe my close friends and family was here !!!! Amazin !!! So happy.' The family were joined by their other sister Lynne, 38, for the occasion.

Joanne later wrote on her Twitter page: 'My bday is feb 19th and I will b 30 but we celerbrated early jus in case my big bro wasn't here !! Had a amazin nite.' And clearly David was delighted to see his sister so happy that he arranged for a group photo that he promptly posted on his Facebook page and wrote: 'Merry Xmas everyone....just at my little sister Jo's birthday party tonight.'

Report: David & Victoria Beckham Furious After Christmas Card Leak

Power couple David Beckham and wife Victoria are quite upset after a Christmas card, originally sent to select friends, journalists and magazine/newspaper editors, was leaked online.

The photo, reportedly showing their four children - Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 9, Cruz, 6 and Harper, 5-months - topless, ended up on Twitter Wednesday (December 21). The image was first posted by Vogue senior fashion news editor, Jane Keltner De Valle. The caption read: "Cutest thing about @victoriabeckham's xmas card? Photo cred on back that reads 'Picture by Daddy'."

The pic was also picked up by Popsugar and MailOnline, while Glamour editor Jo Elvin tweeted it, followed quickly by an apology, once it was made apparent that the image was not to be shared publicly. “I should point out, the Christmas card from the Beckhams is Not for publication,” she writes. “It was private. My bad. Sorry, got swept up in adorableness.”

FYI: I've seen the card and even though it is adorable, I've chosen not to display it on the site as the Beckham camp has contacted numerous websites and wants their photo removed. The one above is simply a comedic photo that I happened to find on Google images.

Beckham to PSG Reports Wide OFF the Mark

A report that former England captain David Beckham had agreed to sign for French Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain is not true, a spokesperson for the football star told AFP on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old Beckham, whose contract with Los Angeles Galaxy expires at the end of December, has constantly been linked with a move to PSG, who are bankrolled by a Qatari investment company.

Wednesday's edition of Le Parisien has on its front page a story claiming Beckham was signing an 18-month contract and would be paid 800,000 euros a month.

However, a spokesperson for Beckham -- whose main aim next year is to play for the Great Britain team at the London Olympics -- categorically denied a deal had been done.

"No agreement with any football club has been reached. Any talk of a deal is premature. David is presently considering his options," said the spokesperson.

Another source close to Beckham said it was by no means certain he would opt for PSG as he could remain with LA Galaxy with whom he won the MLS crown last season.

The Beckham camp had had to deny similar claims on Saturday when it had been reported he was in Paris and that his former pop star wife Victoria had been looking for a suitable house in Paris for them and their four children.

Top Gear chiefs wrote: “Sceptical we may have been, but the artist formerly known As Posh Spice has turned out a rather nifty vehicle. Kudos, Mrs B. Car design? A piece of cake for the multi-talented Mrs Beckham.”

Has your success surprised you?

As much as I believe in what I do – and love it – the assumption has always been that when times are hard people buy luxury brands that they know, that have a history and have proven themselves over time. The fact that people have been willing to invest in me makes me feel quite blown away. I was very aware of all the preconceptions about me and what I was doing when I began. The summer right before we launched I was on holiday with David in Spain, and I remember being on the phone with Simon [Fuller, her backer], and saying, “I’m really nervous,” and he said, “You have nothing to be nervous about. As long as you enjoy what you are doing, and do your best, you have nothing to prove.” And then Marc Jacobs told me, “This is not about being better than anyone else or competing with anyone else; it’s about competing with yourself.” I have always thought that was very powerful advice.

How much of the consumer’s ‘investment’ do you think has to do with you, and what you represent, and how much has to do with what you make?

I’ve been told numerous times that I’m a very polarising figure: some people like me and some people really don’t. I also know that when I wear one of my dresses, it helps sales – there’s a quite direct numerical relationship – but I don’t like to rely on that. I am quite happy that now my reviews are really all about the collection, they are not about me. From the beginning I didn’t want people to confuse Victoria Beckham the brand with the surname Beckham. I wasn’t just going to throw money at it. We have always had very strict budgets. One of the steepest learning curves for me has been understanding that every seam or pocket I add has an equivalent effect on the price of a garment.

Last season was your first full-fledged show; previously you held small presentations in which you narrated each collection. Why the change?

We never consciously planned for me to talk through the collections in the beginning; it just happened that way by accident. I think the bottom line is: I talk a lot. I couldn’t help myself. It was very important to me that people really understood what I was doing: the fabrics, the seaming, the corsetry, the cut. I am a big believer in going with my gut. I don’t really do any market research, though I do really enjoy and believe in private in-store events where I meet my customers. I’ve done them in Harrods, Selfridges, Neiman Marcus, Russia – I like to really get into the fitting room with a woman and put her in a dress and see what she says. As someone who has often had to have things tailored in the past, it’s important for me to know where you might need more of a seam allowance, for example. The goal is to make things easier.

Do you feel a responsibility as a female role model?

I very much believe in women and supporting women, and one of the reasons I wanted to get into fashion was to make women feel good about themselves. I’d love to think I made someone’s dream seem possible, but with four children and a husband and a full-time job, I see my value more as being an example of a woman who is facing all the different pressures most women are. The hardest job in the world is being a working parent.

How do you manage the work-life balance?

It’s very difficult. It’s by far the most difficult part of my current situation, and it’s getting more so, as the business grows. I’m very lucky with David, though: he really supports me; he’s never been the kind of man who expects me to be home cooking dinner every night. Everything we do as parents is shared. Every morning, I take one boy to school; David takes the other two. I pick one up in the afternoon, David picks up the other two, or vice versa. In between, I work, but baby Harper goes with me everywhere; if I’m there, she’s there. I’ve been in meetings where I’m changing a nappy.

Are you planning a line of children’s clothes, as rumoured?

No – I am not sure where that story came from. I think it must have been because I had a little dress made up for Harper in one of the prints from the Victoria collection [a cat print]. That’s certainly not on the table at the moment. What we are looking at is doing our own retail, and we are researching different cities at the moment. When you look at our sales geographically, we are spread almost equally throughout markets, so it’s not immediately clear where we should start. We are also planning to launch e-commerce by the middle of next year.

Are you going to stay in LA?

Ooooh, that’s a good question. I love our life here, and even more importantly, my children really love it here: they have great schools, great friends. Having said that, it’s not easy when you live in Los Angeles and your team is in London and New York. I often get up ridiculously early to do video conferences with the UK. Sometimes I start my day at 3am. I think in terms of the business, my aesthetic is more European – I’m a girl from London, after all – but my head is quite American. From the beginning, I wanted to run this as a business. While every season I know I need to push myself creatively, I am also very aware of what my retailers and customers want – which is often one of the signature dresses with internal corsetry. There’s a work-work balance as well.

Do you have any advice for other women?

I am absolutely obsessive about diary-keeping. I can tell you what I’m doing next June. It’s the only way I can make this all possible. The first thing I do in the year is get everyone else’s diary – David’s, the children’s – so I know when all his football games are, where they are, what the kids have to do, when the parent-teacher conferences are, and then I build my work schedule around that. Of course, some things are out of my control: if I have to be in New York for fashion week, I’ll miss something.

For me, it’s important to be respectful of everyone else’s time too. Sometimes you hear a designer say, “Oh, I was up until 5am the morning of the show changing everything around or finishing the clothes,” and I just couldn’t do that. It would make me too anxious, and it’s also not fair to the people around you. From the beginning, I thought I had to do this my way.

Victoria Beckham’s Posh New Line

Since springing from the mid-’90s female id that was the Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham has made a career of self-invention. Once a well-to-do suburban British teen who pleaded with her father to drive her to school in his work van instead of his Rolls, she became “Posh,” a hot pop property identified by the very pedigree she once shunned. The persona—that blend of cold insouciance and smoldering wouldn’t-you-like-to-know glamour—became a shield, first as an excuse for a shy, unconfident singer to opt out of vocal solos and some of her fellow Spices’ cheesier dance moves, and later as a paparazzi defense tactic. From behind that carefully constructed veil, she’s given us Victoria, the footballer’s wife, the hands-on mother, the walking brand, and—as the fashion world has increasingly come to see her—the conqueror.

When she walks into her ELLE photo shoot in Hollywood, the 37-year-old Beckham is dressed in what passes in her world as mom-duty ease: a slouchy, asymmetrical black knit Helmut Lang sweater, sprayed-on dark denim, and six-inch patent Louboutins. (“Super casual and comfy,” she says.) On her hip is three-month-old Harper Seven, her fourth child and—finally!—first girl with husband David. A quick costume change later, Beckham is in mogul mode: a cherry red, drop-waist wool dress from the inaugural collection of her new mid-price dress line, Victoria, Victoria Beckham.

Beckham has introduced sophisticated daywear and a handful of loose, unstructured silhouettes to the main line she launched in 2008, but she’ll forever be synonymous with the luxe, fits-like-a-glove dresses that first defined her brand. Tailor-made for flashbulbs but built to attract women both in and out of the spotlight, these figure-flaunting shapes—intimidating even for those who share her honed 5'3" frame—are surprisingly woman-friendly, with two-way zippers (which adjust to the length of a wearer’s stride), hidden corsets, breathable mesh linings. “When we have Victoria’s stuff in the studio, it’s the first thing Cameron Diaz tries on,” says stylist Rachel Zoe, who met Beckham at a dinner party with Marc Jacobs and dresses celebrity clients such as Demi Moore in Beckham’s designs. “But any woman would feel sexy in her dresses.”

With that fit and its creator’s knack for self-promotion—these days she’s almost exclusively snapped in her own label and has effectively retired her rumored $1.5 million collection of Hermès Birkins to carry her own bags—Beckham sells. She launched a luxury brand mid-recession, when all conventional wisdom would have bet against her price point ($1,500 to $3,600). But her first collection sold out on Net-a-Porter within minutes; the site still runs through new stock in a matter of days, with some looks snatched up entirely in presale. When she launched her handbags in 2010, also on Net-a-Porter, a $2,700 two-tone shoulder bag was gone within the hour, soon followed by a $14,000 crocodile-skin chain purse. Sales of Beckham’s brands began 2011 up 71 percent; the year’s predicted earnings were a reported $95.6 million.

Initially, the staunchest (or snobbiest) of the style pack chalked up Beckham’s success to celebrity and connections—specifically, help from runway heavyweight friends Jacobs and Parisian designer Roland Mouret. But Beckham says that when she embarked on her new career, Jacobs was the last to know. “We went out to dinner one night, and he said, ‘I saw that you put out a collection,’ ” she recalls. “I felt embarrassed to tell Marc Jacobs that I—me, ex–Spice Girl, married to a footballer—was creating a fashion line.”

Beckham, who often serves as the fit model at her Battersea, London, atelier, says she’s immune to trends. “I just create what I want to wear,” she says. “I make what feels right.” Sometimes, what she feels can be strangely prescient: Her fall 2011 collection, which featured her loosest (and most bump-friendly) silhouettes yet—a blue gazar cocoon dress and a billowing clay-colored cashmere sweaterdress—was completed just as she learned she was pregnant. The new secondary line was made while she was pregnant with, she was told, a boy—but her hormones knew better; she traded her signature hourglass mystique for young, flirty frocks she says represent her “inner girl.” Friend and fellow high-profile designer/wife Katie Holmes trusts Beckham’s instinct too. “We go to the same events, and we’ll call each other to ask, ‘What color are you wearing?’ ” says Holmes. “I’m always interested in what she’s liking for the season.”

With its girlish, candy-colored ’60s A-lines, Victoria, Victoria Beckham—despite the name—represents the designer’s biggest leap to date from her own closet, starting with the $450 to $1,250 price point; it took months to find affordable fabrics that met Beckham’s standards. The cat print on a caramel crepe de chine tunic (Beckham dressed her daughter in a custom miniature version at the shoot) was inspired by feline-loving indie comics heroine Emily the Strange, whose poker face could rival Beckham’s own public persona. It’s partly a wry inside joke with her fans (“I’m quite aware of people’s preconceptions, but that’s really actually not me,” she says. “I do like to poke fun at myself and have a laugh”) and partly the designer’s fashion-friendly version of a pregnancy craving. “When I was pregnant, I just wanted to get lots of animals for some reason,” she says. “We talked about cats, but David said absolutely not.”

By September’s New York Fashion Week, that print was the only visible reminder of Beckham’s pregnancy (besides then six-week-old Harper, who has her mother’s dark eyes and pout). “Oh, listen, I worked at it,” she says. “I was breast-feeding, so I ate super healthy, and I worked out seven days a week. I wanted to burn all my leggings—I was adamant that by the time I went to fashion week I would be able to wear clothes.” And sure enough, hours after she debuted her newest dresses, she was photographed wearing one.

Some critics have accused Victoria’s dresses of being boring but I think they’re classy and hugely wearable. They stand out without being in your face or ostentatious. Her latest collection really made me think: ‘I must have one’. So last week I found myself in Harrods splurging £1,550 on a berry coloured shift from her current range. It wasn’t an impulse purchase. I’ve been considering it for a while, but when I handed over my money the excitement was tinged with a stab of guilt.

I’m a size eight but I needed a ten because Victoria’s clothes are a smaller fit. The dress gives me a perfect hour-glass figure, smoothing out lumps and bumps around the thighs and tummy thanks to very strong stretch fabric which works like Spanx control pants. I’m conscious that my legs are bigger than my top half. I’ll wear it for the first time next week at my husband’s birthday dinner. I’m excited Victoria’s bringing out a cheaper diffusion line next year. And my bank manager will be happier, too.

When I attended the London Film Festival in October wearing my £2,200 Victoria Beckham dress, I felt like a million dollars. It has a pale grey cashmere top and mushroom skirt and flatters my figure perfectly. To think I’d been so hesitant about buying a dress designed by someone I considered a deadbeat former pop star.

For me, having studied at the Paris College of Fashion, it’s all about the tailoring, construction and fabric of a dress. I didn’t think someone like Victoria could deliver. Then, when I tried some pieces on last winter, I discovered why they sell so well despite the price: they have a way of hiding bumps, bulges and bra and pant lines, making you look slimmer, taller and more shapely.

Handing over £1,300 for a black and khaki Victoria Beckham shift dress last month marked the end of my five-month mission to get my hands on one. It was only when I watched her walking into Westminster Abbey for the Royal Wedding in April wearing a beautiful navy trapeze dress from her own label that I knew I had to have it but, predictably, within hours it had sold out.

I tried various VB dresses in Selfridges and Harrods, but either they didn’t have the right size (I’m a 10) or the right colour — I wear dark shades whereas her designs are often bright. But the pleasure of trying them on made me determined to get one — the finishing is immaculate and the fabrics and internal structure so good, your figure always looks fabulous.

The same can’t be said of all designer clothes. I’ve been trying on Gucci and Alexander McQueen dresses for my elder daughter’s wedding next year and they’re just not as well constructed. That’s why, when I was in New York last month and I saw this VB dress, I had to have it.
I’ve now got my eye on a beautiful £2,200 maroon leather tote bag from her collection.

David Beckham on Galaxy Tour in Asia

David Beckham will make what may be a farewell tour with the Los Angeles Galaxy in the coming week in a trio of Asian games that have spawned local discussion about ticket prices.

The Galaxy will play an Indonesian Select XI in Jakarta on Wednesday, followed by a meeting Dec. 3 with the Philippines national team in Manila, then a game against Australian club Melbourne Victory three days later.

Beckham is contractually obliged to play, and these may be his last appearances in a Galaxy jersey, with speculation ongoing about a move back to Europe.

The cost of tickets for the upcoming games had raised eyebrows in local markets, with fears they will be out of reach for poorer fans in Jakarta and Manila, in particular.

The last time L.A. Galaxy toured Asia was in 2008, when the team was met with some disappointing attendance. In South Korea, only half of the 66,000 seats at Seoul World Cup Stadium were occupied, and four days later in Shanghai, only about 10,000 fans bought tickets for the match.

Australia has been different however, with 80,000 fans turning out to watch the game against Sydney in 2007, while last year's game against Newcastle Jets was almost a sellout.

Indonesian organizer Mahaka Sports is hoping that sales for Wednesday's game will follow the Australia pattern, though there, too, fans of host Melbourne Victory have criticized ticket prices that start at $60.

Reports in the Jakarta media say 40,000 of the 76,000 available tickets need to be sold to break even, but only 20,000 have been sold.

Selling out the 13,000 capacity Rizal Stadium in Manila should be an easier task, although with the cheapest tickets available at $45, similar in price to the most expensive tickets at a recent 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kuwait, there is no guarantee the arena will be full.

The former England captain's visit is a boost to the sport in the Philippines, where the national team is low-ranked and other sports command more attention.

"David Beckham is a crowd-puller and for him to come here is a big thing and people are excited to see him here," said Nonong Araneta, president of the Philippine Football Association. "It is not only good for football but for the country. Bringing a celebrity is good for the image of the Philippines."

In Melbourne, the game is being billed as a belated clash between Beckham and recent Victory signing Harry Kewell. The two were among the biggest stars in the English Premier League when their respective clubs, Manchester United and Leeds United, were fighting for major titles in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
